Annual salary range: Pay Grade HAA ($153,004.80 - $191,006.40 - $229,008.00)

The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (LA
Metro) plans, administers, designs, constructs, and operates one of the nation’s largest transit and rail transportation systems in Los Angeles County. Additionally, it is one of the nation’s largest funders of multi-modal transportation and goods movement projects.

The Executive Officer/Deputy Chief, System Security and Law Enforcement Division will support the Chief, System Security and Law Enforcement Division in the execution and direction of LA Metro’s overall security and law enforcement contract compliance and strategic plan while supporting a community oriented policing philosophy.
Qualifications The ideal candidate will desire to understand the importance of every customer, employee and resource to the agency. Service interruptions happen because of crime and security related incidences; qualified candidates must understand the importance of service delivery and the needs of response, investigation and recovery. Being able to develop relationships with other departments and customers as well as with the Board of Directors is crucial for the success of this position. A robust law/security background with transit experience is required along with a very good understanding of civil law with regards to the homeless and public/private interface. The ideal candidate will take a well-engrained system with many good moving parts and make it better through teamwork, coordination with other departments, specifically Operations, and fresh, new ideas that will improve security, and encourage employees across all disciplines. Bachelor’s degree in Homeland Security, Emergency Management, Criminal Justice, Urban Planning, Business, Public Administration or other related field and eight (8) years of experience as a transportation executive with a management portfolio that included oversight of transit policing and/or transit security operations; OR equivalent experience as a law enforcement executive in the transportation field is required. MA/MS is ideal.
Compensation Annual salary range: Pay Grade BB ($153,004.80 - $191,006.40 - $229,008.00)
